In 1882, on the quiet shores of Georgian Bay, Gidley Boat Works began working on a product that would revolutionize the Canadian boating industry forever. In the late 1920's a local craftsman from Penetanguishine named Arthur Grew took over this operation and was instrumental in forming a company that is still a leader in the industry today - Grew Mfg. Taking the finest materials he could gather, and applying his time honoured skill as a Master boat builder, Arthur Grew catalyzed a Legend that continues to this day, over a century later. From those small beginnings, to our state of the art production facility, Grew continues to provide boat consumers everywhere with the highest quality boat possible.

Still on the shores of Georgian Bay, Grew has now moved to Owen Sound, a city with the richest history of boat building in Central North America. Here in our Quality Controlled environment, our team of dedicated and experienced Craftsmen continually ask one question: "How can we build Grew better?"

It is this constant strive for excellence that separates Grew from other builders. Instead of merely inspecting the finished product, every single piece that comprises a Grew boat is thoroughly inspected before it is used. This is to ensure that everything is absolutely perfect and meets our most stringent approval.

Grew we want all boat consumers to have the very best and therefor every one of our products are built to exceed the toughest building standards in the in the world - the "CE" or Common European Standards - and to this day, over a century later, we still use the finest materials available. When you take the helm of a Grew boat, you'll know that while we built it, we never used the term "Good enough."
